Clearingthebuffer
When DIP switch2-1 is ON, the printer stores receiveddata in a large
memorybuffer.Thiscreatesaproblemwhenyouwanttoabandonaprinting
job andrestart:theprintermaybeholdingmuchmoredatainitsbufferthan
it has actuallyprinted,and this unprinteddatamustbe clearedout before
restaffing.Turningpower off is one way to clear the buffer, but there is
anotherway:

Halt the printingprogramon the computer.If printingstopsimmedi-
ately,thebufferis clearandtherestofthisprocedureis unnecessary.If
printingdoesnot stop,continueas follows:
Pressthe

buttonto settheprinteroff-line.Printingwill
now stop,buttheremay be data remainingin the buffer.
Press andholdthe ( ON
LINE
)
button.
Press andholdthe (~) button.Continueholdingthesetwo buttons
down.In aboutthreesecondsyouwillhearabeeptonesignalingthatthe
bufferhas been cleared.
Releasethesebuttons,makeanynecessarycontrolpanelsettings,then
setthe printerbackon-line.
Itisessentialtohalttheprintingprogramonthecomputerbeforeyougooff-
line.Otherwise,whenyougobackon-linethe computerwillstartsending
dataagainandtheprinterwillcontinueprinting,withmissingdatawherethe
bufferwas cleared.
